Director of Nursing

Location: Augusta, GA

Salary: $84,000 – $87,000 per year (based on experience)

Pyramid Healthcare in Augusta, GA is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the highest quality of care for individuals in recovery. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse leader who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and is passionate about behavioral health and substance use treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership and direction for the nursing department, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Oversee all nursing operations, including staff development, quality assurance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and update nursing policies, procedures, and education programs.
  • Ensure nursing practices align with evidence-based standards, regulations, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to promote integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resources with fiscal responsibility.
  • Maintain open communication across departments, providing regular updates on nursing performance and quality outcomes.
  • Remain accessible and responsive to nursing staff, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations and ensure compliance with HR policies and training requirements.
  • Uphold confidentiality and maintain the highest ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in behavioral health, substance use, or related healthcare settings.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric, substance use disorder, and co-occurring treatment modalities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage resources effectively, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
