Job summary

Ivanhoe Electric Inc. seeks a Director of Construction to lead the owner-side construction execution for the Santa Cruz Project. The role drives safe, efficient field work translating engineering deliverables into completed facilities.

You will oversee construction management teams, contractors, and partners, with accountability for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and turnover to commissioning and operations. Strong field leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressively responsible construction and project delivery experience, including leadership on major capital projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mining Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling, project controls, cost management, and contractor payment processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for construction execution across the project.
• Develop and implement Construction Execution Plan and staffing strategies.
• Direct construction activities across underground development, heavy civil, earthworks, and process facilities.
• Ensure safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractor performance meet project standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls to align scope, schedule, and costs.
• Lead stakeholder communication and ensure smooth turnover to commissioning and operations.
