Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Marketing and Communications (DMC) serves as a member of Concord Community Music School's administrative team and is responsible for building and leading the organization's communications, marketing, and community engagement.
Guided by the organization's new strategic plan, the DMC develops and carries out a comprehensive communications and marketing plan, builds a consistent brand across platforms, expands and diversifies the audiences we reach, and helps cultivate the institutional partnerships that advance enrollment, access, and financial stability.
CCMS operates primarily in person, with occasional opportunities for hybrid work. The DMC is expected to attend select performances, community events, and organizational activities throughout the year, including some evenings and weekends.
Organization Profile
Founded in 1984, Concord Community Music School (CCMS) is one of New Hampshire's largest community music schools. Our mission is to cultivate lifelong musical growth and meaningful human connections for all. We are guided by the values of being inclusive and welcoming, collaborative and communal, mission-driven and purposeful, creative and curious, empathetic and supportive, sustainable and community-rooted, and customer-focused with a growth mindset.
Located at 23 Wall Street in downtown Concord, CCMS is a vibrant arts center with teaching studios, ensemble and percussion rooms, a recording studio, an outdoor performance area, and two signature indoor venues, the Recital Hall and the Community Room. More than 1,400 students participate in lessons and programs each week, both onsite and throughout the community, ranging in age from 6 months to 90+.
CCMS offers instruction in a wide variety of instruments, voice, music therapy, dance movement therapy, and digital audio production. More than 40% of students receive financial assistance, with approximately $125,000 committed to tuition aid each year. In 2026, CCMS adopted a new five-year strategic plan built around five priorities, including a strong external communications and community engagement function, to position the Music School for continued growth and impact.
