Position Overview

Specialized is seeking a Director of Market Development.

How You’ll Make a Difference

1. Drive sales success through strategic planning, structure, and team leadership.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sales forecasts, pricing, budgets, and promotional programs.
3. Increase brand awareness by engaging key accounts and prospects.
4. Report progress and work with leadership to address challenges.
5. Manage salary, commissions, and sales incentives.
6. Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to your team.
7. Develop talent and coach team members for success.
8. Identify business obstacles and develop strategies to overcome them.
9. Create individualized account management plans with measurable goals.
10. Travel within the territory to stay informed of market conditions and competitors.

Qualifications

1. Based in the Central US region.
2. 3+ years of sales leadership experience in wholesale distribution, preferably in the specialty sports industry.
3. Proven ability to develop innovative strategies that enhance sales, profitability, and service.
4. Excellent negotiation and sales skills.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Effective organization and time-management abilities.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Willingness to travel frequently.
9. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing preferred.
