Job summary

Dimplex Thermal Solutions in Kalamazoo, MI, seeks a production leader to guide the manufacturing team, drive efficiency, and partner with design, materials and operations to improve processes.

You will own shop floor execution, implement Lean initiatives, develop people, analyze performance data, and coordinate with divisional leadership on best-practice sharing. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing related discipline preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Solid analytical and process improvement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing activities and shop floor execution.
• Coordinate communications between all Department Leaders and functions.
• Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes using Lean methods.
• Develop people and deliver results; manage conflict and change.
• Plan and execute assigned special projects and capital equipment justifications.
• Collaborate with design, materials and manufacturing to develop work instructions and documentation.

Job description

Responsible for the management and leadership of the production team. Responsible for developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes for greatest efficiencies; working with design, materials and manufacturing groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for manufacturing activities and shop floor execution
• Critical communication skills required.
• Provides manufacturing process continuously improving leadership.
• Delivers Results, Develops People.
• Manages conflict and change
• Coordinate communications between all Department Leaders.
• Supports implementation of Lean Manufacturing.
• Analyze processes and implement recommendations.
• Plans and executes assigned special projects.
• Develops capital equipment recommendations and associated capital justifications.
• Works alongside members of the design, materials and manufacturing groups to develop work instructions, PFMEA’s, fixtures, work station designs, drawings and other documentation.
• Uses performance data and metrics to drive improvements.
• Serves as a member of the Divisional Operations structure and works closely with the COO and the Operations Directors of other sites to exchange best practices, support divisional priorities, and assist one another whenever practical and beneficial.
• Occasional travel to suppliers, including occasional business travel outside of the United States as required by divisional Operations collaboration.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing related discipline is preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
