Job summary

Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is seeking a Director of Development to manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, develop fundraising strategies, and partner with faculty and leadership to advance School priorities.

The role requires extensive travel and strong donor relations skills. The successful candidate will steer strategy, coordinate with ODAR and university colleagues, and lead donor engagement to secure significant gifts for Harvard Chan’s mission in public health research

Qualifications

• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
• Proven aptitude for successfully managing a robust portfolio.
• Experience soliciting and closing six- and seven-figure gifts in a complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of 100-125 prospects in assigned regions.
• Travels approximately 50% of the time for meetings and events.
• Develops cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to enhance revenue.
• Drafts gift proposals and talking points for senior leaders.
• Coordinates with faculty and administrators to implement fundraising strategies.
