Job summary

Jawonio Foundation Inc seeks a Director of Development / Major Gifts to lead comprehensive fundraising initiatives that advance our mission. You will design and execute strategies across major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and capital campaigns, cultivating donors and engaging volunteers and board members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree or CFRE credential preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, focusing on major gifts.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and donor management databases (e.g., Raiser's Edge).
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills across diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a strategic fundraising plan across individual, corporate, and foundation sources.
• Lead major gifts, annual drives, planned giving, and capital campaigns as needed.
• Cultivate and steward major gift prospects, recurring donors, and planned giving donors.
• Involve board members and senior leadership in donor solicitation and cultivation.
• Develop donor messaging and communications to demonstrate impact.
• Coordinate with outsourced events planner and attend Jawonio Foundation/Jawonio Inc events to engage donors.
• Present results and progress to the Foundation Board; oversee donor data and acknowledgments.
