Job summary

Avardis-Health in Mississippi is seeking a qualified Director of Maintenance to lead our Maintenance Department and ensure safe, well‑maintained facilities for residents and staff. You will develop strategies, supervise technicians, and coordinate preventive maintenance programs to keep building systems operating reliably.

The role requires a strong background in boilers, electrical, and mechanical systems, plus knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical degree preferred.
• Three years of supervisory maintenance or plant experience.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Dedicated and detail-oriented with a focus on safety and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a preventative maintenance plan.
• Establish and manage equipment and utilities program.
• Hire, train, and supervise maintenance technicians.
• Conduct safety inspection tours and document findings.
• Provide facility-wide safety training and chair Safety Committee.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Ensure supplies, tools, and equipment are maintained.
• Stay up to date on building codes and safety regulations.
• Seek innovative solutions to improve maintenance operations and safety.
