Job summary
Shalom Gardens Senior Living & Parkside Senior Living is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee two communities, ensure safe, well-maintained buildings, grounds, and systems, and lead maintenance teams to deliver exceptional resident service.
You will coordinate preventive maintenance, respond to urgent requests, supervise trades, manage budgets, and partner with leadership to prioritize needs while upholding safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of supervisory maintenance experience in commercial, healthcare, senior living, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, healthcare, or long-term care is a plus.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities across two senior living communities.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent maintenance situations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation between communities required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and physical plant operations of both communities.
- Provide maintenance oversight and support for Shalom Gardens Senior Living and Parkside Senior Living
- Maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems in safe and operational condition
- Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance and routine repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and team members
- Oversee plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of the buildings and grounds
- Identify potential safety concerns and ensure timely corrective action
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and preventative maintenance schedules
- Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors when necessary
- Monitor maintenance supplies, equipment, and inventory
- Assist with budgeting and controlling maintenance-related expenses
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, fire, building, and regulatory requirements
- Support emergency preparedness and respond to urgent maintenance needs as necessary
- Maintain resident apartments and common areas to ensure a welcoming and comfortable environment
- Partner with community leadership to prioritize maintenance needs
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and exceptional resident service
