Role Description

The Director of Maintenance is a full-time, on-site role located in Indianapolis, IN, responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the facility. This role manages the maintenance team, assigns daily work orders, and ensures timely completion of repairs and upkeep for building systems, resident rooms, and common areas. The Director of Maintenance coordinates preventive maintenance schedules, monitors safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborates with vendors and contractors for specialized services. Daily activities include inspecting equipment and infrastructure, addressing urgent maintenance issues, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a safe, comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and Care Team members.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Candidates should possess hands-on maintenance and repair abilities, including general building maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Candidates should possess carpentry skills for facility repairs, minor renovations, and safe modifications to resident and common spaces.
  • Candidates should possess facility management (FM) and maintenance management experience, including preventive maintenance planning, vendor coordination, and compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in healthcare or senior living environments, knowledge of local building and fire codes, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in maintenance, engineering, or related fields is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Indianapolis, IN, with flexibility to respond to emergencies and occasional after-hours issues.
