Job summary

Priority Life Care, LLC is hiring a Director of Maintenance for an on-site role in Ocala, FL. You will lead the maintenance team, coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance, and ensure building systems meet safety and regulatory standards while supporting resident safety and comfort.

You will oversee work orders, vendor coordination, and inventory management, partnering with community leadership to maintain a high level of service and reliability in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting.

Role Description

The Director of Maintenance is a full-time, on-site role based in Ocala, FL, responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance within the community. This role includes planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance and repair activities to ensure building systems, equipment, and grounds are safe, functional, and compliant with regulatory standards. The Director of Maintenance leads and supervises the maintenance team, sets priorities, assigns tasks, and monitors performance to maintain a high level of service and responsiveness. Daily responsibilities include inspecting facilities, managing work orders, coordinating with external vendors and contractors, and maintaining inventory of tools and supplies. The Director of Maintenance collaborates closely with community leadership to support resident safety, comfort, and satisfaction by proactively addressing maintenance needs and contributing to emergency preparedness plans.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, scheduling, and performance oversight.


• Hands-on maintenance and repair capabilities, with experience in basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting.


• Proficiency in carpentry and general building upkeep to address structural and cosmetic repairs.


• Experience in facility management (FM), including safety compliance, vendor coordination, and preventive maintenance planning.


• Maintenance management skills, such as managing work orders, tracking maintenance records, and prioritizing tasks.


• Knowledge of building safety codes, fire and life safety systems, and regulatory requirements in senior living or healthcare settings.


• Ability to lift and carry equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.


• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with residents, team members, and external partners.


• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or technical training in maintenance-related fields is preferred.


• Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, or similar residential environments is beneficial.
