Job summary

UB Greensfelder LLP in St. Louis seeks a Director of Professional Development to design, implement, and oversee the attorney and paralegal development strategy across all offices.

The role provides leadership for training, mentoring, performance management, and succession-related initiatives, working with leadership to align with strategic objectives and ensure ongoing professional excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive professional development, attorney development, legal education, talent management, human resources, or law firm leadership experience.
• Experience within a large law firm, professional services organization, or legal department strongly preferred.
• Experience designing and implementing attorney training and leadership development programs.
• Prior supervisory and budget management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive attorney professional development strategy.
• Establish annual goals, priorities, and performance metrics for development initiatives.
• Evaluate trends in legal education, attorney talent development, and engagement/retention.
• Partner with Firm leadership on talent management, succession planning, and workforce development.
• Prepare periodic reports for the Executive Committee, Governing Board, and Practice Group Leaders.
