Job summary

Nazareth School in San Diego seeks a Learning Support Director to oversee programs for students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure access to quality education that supports academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

The role emphasizes coordinating accommodations, conducting assessments, and staying current with best practices and regulatory requirements for inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree (preferred).
• Knowledge of IDEA.
• Preliminary Teaching Credential working toward a Clear Credential.
• Experience in student teaching or classroom teaching.
• Understanding of child development and related skills.
• Training in educational methods, learning differences, accommodations, and modifications.

Responsibilities

• Implement a comprehensive learning support program aligning with the school mission and meeting diverse learner needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify students needing support and develop individualized learning plans (ILPs).
• Support teachers on instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications for diverse learners.
• Coordinate accommodations and support services (extra time, assistive tech, specialized instruction).
• Advocate for students with learning differences within the school community.

Education

Master’s Degree (preferred)

Knowledge of IDEA

Preliminary Teaching Credential working toward a Clear Credential

Experience in student teaching or classroom teaching

Understanding of child development

Educational methods, learning differences, accommodations, and modifications training
