Mount Notre Dame Health Center is seeking an experienced Director of Laundry Services to oversee daily laundry operations for our 80-bed facility. Lead a team, ensure high standards of cleanliness, and maintain a safe, organized work environment for Sisters and staff.

The ideal candidate will supervise staff, coordinate schedules, manage inventory, and uphold strict infection control practices while delivering courteous service and quality linens.

Qualifications

• Oversee daily laundry operations: washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution.
• Supervise, train, and support staff; manage schedules and timecards.
• Ensure a steady supply of clean linens for Sisters and facility.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area and equipment upkeep.
• Handle cleaning agents safely per safety and infection control standards.

Mount Notre Dame Health Center is seeking an experienced Director of Laundry Services to oversee and participate in the daily laundry operations for our 80-bed, five-star facility. This role ensures that garments, linens, and laundry services are completed with the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and care while maintaining an organized, efficient, and safe environment.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, organized leader who takes pride in their work, supports their team, and helps create a positive, respectful, and welcoming environment for both our Sisters and employees.

Requirements

• Oversee and participate in daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution of linens and garments.
• Ensure a consistent supply of clean linens and clothing to meet the needs of the Sisters and facility.
• Supervise, train, and support laundry staff while managing schedules and approving timecards.
• Promote a positive work environment built on teamwork, communication, respect, and accountability.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Properly handle and mix cleaning agents and disinfectants in accordance with safety and infection control standards.
• Manage inventory of linens, supplies, and equipment; order replacements and monitor costs as needed.
• Complete required departmental records, documentation, and financial reports accurately.
• Maintain current MSDS information and follow all safety and infection control procedures.
• Mend or repair garments and linens as needed.
• Provide prompt, courteous service and respond to Sisters' laundry-related requests and concerns.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support smooth facility operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in commercial or institutional laundry operations required, supervisory experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of commercial laundry equipment, processes, and best practices.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork and service.
• Upholds confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for the privacy and dignity of the Sisters.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, holidays, and respond to urgent needs as required.
