Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director, Technical Program Manager to lead and grow a team of TPMs while building the TPM practice and driving outcomes across product, engineering, design, and data science. You will simplify complex technical decisions and maintain a strong focus on execution and accountability.

The role requires a strong technical background, exceptional communication, and a proven ability to collaborate across large cross-functional teams in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
• 5+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
• 3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services or architecture
• 3+ years of experience with site reliability engineering, observability, incident response, or disaster recovery programs at scale
• 3+ years of experience driving resilience or reliability engineering initiatives — including chaos engineering, failure mode analysis, or run-the-engine reduction programs
• 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
• 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs — where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact
• Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience
