Job summary

Campaign Legal Center in Washington, DC is seeking a Director of Information Technology to set technology strategy and lead the IT function. This hands-on role will oversee cloud/cloud-based platforms, MSPs, and vendor relationships while ensuring secure, reliable tools for staff.

The Director will manage the IT budget, report to leadership, and build governance processes. Candidates should have extensive IT leadership experience and a strong security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology.
• Twelve+ years IT experience with leadership and budget/vendor management.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST CSF/CIS Controls/ISO 27001).
• Experience managing external vendors and MSPs, including contracts and SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a multi‑year technology roadmap aligned to the organization’s strategic plan.
• Own the IT operating and capital budget; forecast renewals and total cost of ownership.
• Establish IT governance for prioritizing requests and avoiding shadow IT.
• Define and report IT service metrics: uptime, ticket resolution, project delivery, user satisfaction.
• Supervise IT staff and build technical capability across staff.
• Oversee the IT project portfolio, plan resources, manage scope/schedule/budget.
• Manage enterprise systems portfolio (CRM, finance, HR, collaboration).
• Establish data governance with department heads.
• Lead infrastructure, security, and vendor management including MSP relationships.
• Drive cybersecurity governance, risk assessments, and incident response planning.
• Lead digital transformation and AI initiatives with proper controls.
