Job Title: Director, IT Platform Services
Reports To: VP of Information Technology

Role Summary:
The Director- IT Platform Services is responsible for the reliability, security, and day-to-day operational excellence of the Company’s core technology platform across all locations. This includes network and firewall services, server and infrastructure operations, cloud resources and endpoint management platforms of the Company. As a result, the successful candidate must be able to identify risks, evaluate solutions, and be as reliable as the platform they are supporting.
Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, this role translates infrastructure strategy into executed plans, measurable operational outcomes, and a sustainable control environment. The Director partners closely with the Service Desk and managed service providers (MSPs) to deliver a positive user experience to all who interact with the Company’s technology platform. By treating our stakeholders as customers, and our customers as our friends, you will be a key part of IT’s service delivery to all our internal and external stakeholders.

Owns: platform engineering, infrastructure operations, configuration standards, platform change management, and infrastructure-related control evidence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
- Platform Operations & Reliability (Network, Servers, Voice)
- Lead day-to-day operations for infrastructure services including networks, firewalls, servers, operating systems, VoIP/telephony platforms, and related core services.
- Maintain and improve firewall policies and network segmentation across all locations.
- Establish and manage monitoring and alerting (directly and/or via vendors) to meet defined service targets (e.g., ≥99.9% availability for critical platform services), and drive reductions in incident volume and mean time to restore (MTTR).
- Plan and execute platform upgrades, patching cycles, and lifecycle refreshes with minimal disruption.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and automation practices where feasible to improve repeatability and reduce operational risk.
- Maintain accurate platform documentation (topology, dependencies, configurations) sufficient for troubleshooting, change impact assessment, and audit readiness.
- Platform service reporting (availability, incident trends, change success rate, key risks)
- Current-state and target-state network topology documentation
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for platform operations, change, and recovery
- Endpoint & Device Management (Intune / Autopilot)
- Own the configuration and continuous improvement of Intune/Autopilot, including security baselines, device compliance, application deployment standards, and updating policies.
- Define and maintain device governance standards in coordination with the VP of IT and Service Desk to ensure secure, scalable onboarding and ongoing device compliance.
- Design and improve reporting for device posture, compliance exceptions, and remediation performance.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure DR/BCP technical playbooks in collaboration with IT leadership, Compliance, and Operations.
- Ensure backups, recovery procedures, and periodic DR tests are executed, documented, and retained as evidence, track gaps, and remediation through closure.
- Provide clear reporting on DR readiness, test outcomes, and prioritized remediation items.
- Security, Compliance, and Control Evidence (Infrastructure Domain)
- Maintain infrastructure-related policies, standards, and SOPs under the direction of the VP of IT (e.g., Security, Remote Work, Change Management, Asset/Hardware Inventory, Access Management).
- Support HIPAA-aligned safeguards by ensuring appropriate access controls, configuration management, and auditability within the infrastructure domain.
- Support SOC 2 (AICPA Trust Services Criteria) by preparing control evidence, coordinating with vendors, and driving remediation of identified deficiencies.
- Participate in periodic access reviews and control recertifications relevant to infrastructure systems (e.g., firewall rules, privileged access, RBAC/MFA/conditional access configurations) and ensure exceptions are documented and addressed.
- Maintain a high-quality infrastructure asset inventory (systems, network devices, core services) sufficient to support security risk management, lifecycle planning, and audit requests.
- Vendor and MSP Oversight (Technical Domain)
- Manage day-to-day vendor performance for platform-related services; ensure SLAs and KPIs are defined, monitored, and escalated when not met.
- Lead structured service reviews with vendors and internal stakeholders; drive measurable improvements in uptime, responsiveness, and quality.
- Ensure vendor-delivered work aligns with the Company standards for change control, documentation, and evidence retention.

Education:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Qualifications:
Required
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in infrastructure/platform engineering (network, systems, or cloud), including multi-site environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing firewalls and network security controls in an enterprise environment.
- Practical experience with Microsoft 365/Azure foundational services and endpoint management using Intune.
- Strong documentation discipline and ability to operate within formal change management and evidence expectations.
Preferred
- Fortinet or Cisco network security certification (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
- Security certification such as CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (e.g., CISSP/CISM).
- Microsoft Azure certification relevant to solutions architecture or administration.
- Working experience in a regulated environment (e.g., HIPAA) and/or supporting audit-driven controls (e.g., SOC 2).
- Familiarity with ITIL v4 practices (Incident, Problem, Change Enablement, Service Level Management).
