Job summary

RJI Search seeks a technology leader in Stafford, TX reporting to the CEO to guide a Mexico-based development team and own the technology strategy across business systems, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance.

You won't write code, but you will translate business needs into well-designed software, define requirements, and manage a roadmap with budgets and KPIs for scalable, secure systems across on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading people and multiple technology projects.
• Experience partnering with software dev teams across full lifecycle.
• Familiarity with architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, cloud apps, and source control.
• Exposure to ERP systems, custom software, or business platforms.
• Solid grasp of networking, servers, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and risk management.
• ISO 27001 or similar security framework experience, with audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into clear technical requirements and designs.
• Lead projects end to end from requirements to deployment and support.
• Own technology roadmap, budget, KPIs, and report progress to leadership.
• Ensure secure, reliable, scalable infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
• Oversee user provisioning, licenses, hardware lifecycle, and IT support.
• Hold vendors accountable for service, security and results.
• Collaborate with Compliance on ISO 27001, audits, and disaster recovery.
• Contribute ideas for automation and AI tooling.
• Step in hands-on to troubleshoot when needed.

Salary: to $150,000 base + discretionary bonus

Reports to: CEO

Location: Stafford, TX

Do you love being the bridge between the business and the people who build its systems? Our client, a growing company, is seeking a technology leader who can turn real operational needs into well-designed software and systems, then lead the team that brings them to life.

You'll guide a Mexico-based software development team, partner closely with the CEO and department leaders, and oversee the full technology picture, including business systems, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance. You don't need to write code yourself. You do need to understand how software and systems are designed well enough to define requirements, weigh tradeoffs, and ask the right questions before resources are committed.

Your impact:

• Translate business challenges into clear technical requirements, system designs, and development priorities
• Lead projects end to end, from requirements and design through testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support
• Build and own the technology roadmap, budget, and KPIs, and share progress, risks, and recommendations with executive leadership
• Make sure the infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable across on-premises and cloud environments
• Oversee user provisioning, access controls, software licensing, hardware lifecycle, and employee technical support
• Hold the MSP, consultants, and technology vendors accountable for service, security, and results
• Partner with the Compliance Officer on ISO 27001, audits, business continuity, and disaster recovery
• Bring fresh ideas for automation, AI tools, integrations, and process improvement
• Step in hands-on to troubleshoot whenever the situation calls for it

Your background:

• A proven track record leading people and managing multiple technology projects at the same time
• Experience managing or partnering closely with software development teams across the full development lifecycle
• Familiarity with application architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, cloud applications, and source control
• Exposure to ERP systems, custom software, or other business application platforms
• A solid grasp of networking, servers, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, firewalls, identity and access management, backups, and disaster recovery
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and risk management
• ISO 27001 or similar security framework experience, with a strong habit of documentation and audit readiness
• The business judgment to prioritize wisely and the confidence to present costs, risks, and options to executives
• Experience building or growing the technology function at a small or mid-sized company
