Job summary

Appen in the United States seeks a Director of IT & Automation to lead IT, automation, and security for a fast-growing AI-native company. You will shape the IT roadmap, supervise IT support, enterprise tech, and automation initiatives, and partner with the CPTO and executives.

The role requires 8+ years in IT with leadership, hands-on Microsoft 365, cloud infra, and governance experience (SOC 2, ISO 27001).

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT leadership with strategic and hands-on capabilities.
• Proven experience leading IT support and service delivery in tech/software environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and enterprise IT
• Credible across SaaS, cloud infra, endpoints, identity, integrations
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001 and IT security governance

Responsibilities

• Set the IT roadmap across enterprise tech, security and automation.
• Lead IT support, endpoint management and incident response.
• Own AI/automation initiatives to improve IT operations and employee experience.
• Manage vendor portfolio, licensing, negotiations and cost optimization.
• Build and develop a high-performing IT team and culture of ownership.
