Job summary

Thuma is seeking a Director of Interior Design to build and lead its interior design practice across Retail, Merchandising, Product Development, Brand, Creative, and B2B. This leader will shape how customers experience the brand—from design of key projects to influencing photography, catalogs, and store openings.

Ideal candidates will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, bringing exceptional taste and a bias for execution.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of experience in residential interior design, hospitality, luxury retail, or a design-led consumer brand.
• Exceptional taste and understanding of furniture, lighting, textiles, art, materials, and home design.
• Experience leading high-profile residential or commercial design projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead Thuma’s interior design practice and define design principles to create Oasis across touchpoints.
• Lead interior design direction for major Retail, Trade, Contract, and B2B projects.
• Collaborate with Store Operations to develop interior design training and best practices.
• Shape the interior design direction of catalogs, photography, web imagery, and marketing campaigns in partnership with Brand and Creative.
• Influence product presentation, storytelling, and customer experiences through design and cross-functional partnerships.
