Position Summary:

The Director of Information Technology (IT) leads the Bank’s technology strategy and operations, ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant technology infrastructure and services. This role oversees IT systems, cybersecurity, core banking applications, vendor management, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance—including GLBA, FFIEC, and other applicable federal and state banking regulations. The IT Director partners with senior management to support strategic goals, operational efficiency, and a high standard of customer service through effective use of technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Organizational Leadership

  • Maintain deep understanding of the Bank’s operations and business objectives to align technology strategies accordingly.
  • Advise senior leadership on IT-related risks, opportunities, innovations, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage the annual IT budget, including cost forecasting, procurement, and vendor contracts.
  • Set departmental goals and monitor performance metrics for IT initiatives.

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee administration and maintenance of all Microsoft Windows servers, desktops, and applications.
  • Direct installation, configuration, and maintenance of LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and telecommunications systems.
  • Ensure high availability, security, and performance of all hardware and software systems, including analog and broadband circuits.

Information Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including GLBA, FFIEC, FDIC, and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular IT risk assessments; identify, document, and mitigate IT and cybersecurity risks.
  • Maintain IT policies and procedures, including acceptable use, data classification, and incident response protocols.
  • Oversee technology audits and participate in regulatory examinations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee all banking and business-critical applications, including core banking systems, online/mobile banking platforms, and loan origination systems.
  • Ensure software licensing compliance and track all technology assets.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Develop, maintain, and test the Bank’s disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) for IT systems.
  • Ensure secure, consistent backup and restoration protocols are in place.

Staff Supervision & Training

  • Supervise IT staff and ensure team members have clear responsibilities, up-to-date job descriptions, and ongoing training.
  • Conduct annual evaluations and provide leadership development opportunities for IT team members.
  • Conduct IT orientation for new employees and manage offboarding processes, including access terminations.

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Ensure timely resolution of technical issues related to workstations, networks, software, VoIP systems, and peripherals.
  • Maintain help desk protocols and internal ticketing systems.
  • Conduct regular technology presentations and staff training sessions.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system changes, maintenance logs, and operational reports.
  • Prepare monthly risk management and IT activity reports for executive leadership and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7–10 years of progressive IT experience, including 3–5 years in a management role within a regulated banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GLBA, FFIEC IT Handbook guidelines, NIST cybersecurity framework, and other banking compliance standards.
  • Experience with banking systems, such as core banking (Jack Henry, FIS, Fiserv, etc.), online banking, and treasury management platforms.
  • Proven track record in IT governance, cybersecurity, network management, vendor oversight, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
