Job summary

Marin Community Clinics in California seeks a Director of Infection Prevention & Control to lead the organization's infection prevention program across all locations. You will oversee surveillance, policy development, and compliance with CDC, OSHA, CMS, HRSA, and state regulations, promoting patient safety and quality of care.

The role requires a public health degree, CIC certification, and several years of leadership in infection prevention, preferably within ambulatory or community health

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field.
• CIC certification preferred or required within a specified timeframe.
• Minimum 3-5 years healthcare experience.
• Minimum 3 years infection prevention or infection control leadership experience.
• Experience in ambulatory care, public health, or community health centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Infection Prevention and Control Program across all health center locations.
• Establish infection prevention policies and procedures consistent with CDC and public health guidelines.
• Provide leadership and strategic oversight for infection prevention initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to integrate infection control practices into daily operations.
• Conduct ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases.
• Monitor infection trends and analyze data to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and present infection control reports to executive leadership and quality committees.
• Lead corrective action plans when infection control risks are identified.
• Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, CMS, HRSA, and state regulations; maintain readiness for HRSA OSVs and inspections.
