Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in California seeks a Manager of Infection Prevention to lead infection control programs across the organization. You will develop policies, conduct investigations, train staff, and collaborate with leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.

This role requires a California license, CIC certification, and prior management experience. The position focuses on coordinating prevention activities, environmental rounds, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology or related Health Care field.
• Minimum four years of experience as an infection preventionist in an acute care facility.
• Knowledge of infection prevention operations and regulatory requirements governing patient safety and accreditation standards.
• Extensive knowledge of microbiology, laboratory procedures, aseptic technique and epidemiological methods.
• Knowledge of Performance Improvement principles, tools and techniques.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office suite).
• Ability to travel between organization locations.
• Experience managing a team.
• Master of Science degree preferred.
• CIC certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Directly coordinates and monitors activities to support the infection prevention program framework.
• Collaborates with leadership to develop and implement policies ensuring compliance with standards.
• Organizes infection prevention environmental rounds per evidence-based practice and regulatory standards.
• Promotes compliance through education, audits and reporting to committees; provides training as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
