Job summary

Maryland Center for History and Culture (MCHC) seeks a Director of Individual Giving to lead membership and the Annual Fund strategy. You will increase individual support through donor acquisition, retention, upgrades, stewardship, and portfolio management, connecting donors to MCHC’s mission and programs.

Reporting to the VP of External Affairs, you will supervise the Database & Annual Giving Operations Manager and collaborate across departments to convert visitors and attendees into members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five+ years of progressive fundraising experience in museum/library/nonprofit settings preferred.
• Experience managing annual giving, membership, stewardship, and donor programs.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors, including portfolio management.
• Strong knowledge of membership strategy, donor pipelines, segmentation, retention, renewals, upgrades, and acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive engagement and fundraising strategy for members and Annual Fund donors.
• Manage mailed appeals, pledge reminders, giving challenges, and days of giving.
• Oversee donor acknowledgements, stewardship, events, and donor listings.
• Manage a portfolio of leadership Annual Fund prospects; cultivate and solicit major gifts.
• Collaborate with leadership to refine strategy and track progress with dashboards.
