Job summary

Howard University is seeking a Director of Annual Giving to lead the planning, management, and growth of annual gifts via direct mail, TeleCenter, and electronic solicitation. You will focus on donor acquisition, alumni participation, upgrades, and retention while coordinating year-round campaigns.

The role requires strategic data analysis, collaboration with senior leadership, and a proven track record in moving donors to higher gifts. A dynamic, mission-driven environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business/Public Administration, or closely related field.
• 3 years of relevant fundraising experience or 5 years combined relevant education and experience.
• Knowledge of fundraising CRM (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
• Experience with donor engagement platforms such as Signal by EverTrue, GiveCampus and ThankView.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and interest in AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience in telemarketing and institutional fundraising is highly desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages staff who oversee daily operations of the Howard University Tele-Center and data reporting.
• Supports setup and reporting for the crowdfunding platform and related stakeholders.
• Analyzes data and prepares reports for direct mail, online, and telephone solicitation programs.
• Develops annual revenue and expense targets and manages spending to stay within budget.
