Job summary

California Environmental Voters seeks a Director of Individual Giving to lead major gifts, annual giving, and events strategy across C3, C4, and PAC fundraising. This senior role reports to the VP of Philanthropy and guides a team including Deputy Director of Major Gifts and Fundraising Callers.

Based in California with a four-day work week (two in-office, two remote), the position drives donor growth and long-term engagement, shaping a comprehensive philanthropy program aligned with climate

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of fundraising experience, including at least five years leading an annual giving program and/or soliciting major gifts.
• Experience with political, PAC, or advocacy fundraising and a working understanding of C3, C4, and PAC giving.
• Experience managing and developing fundraising staff.
• Working knowledge of multichannel fundraising, including direct mail, digital, phone, and events.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to set goals, segment donors, and measure results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including compelling solicitations and donor communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead major gifts and PAC fundraising strategy, managing revenue goals and donor portfolios.
• Direct the annual giving program to raise targeted revenue through acquisition, retention, and upgrades.
• Oversee events strategy and donor engagement to advance solicitation and stewardship goals.
• Supervise and develop fundraising staff, set metrics, and report on progress toward revenue goals.
• Collaborate with communications on email and online fundraising campaigns and coordinate donor communications.
