Job summary

Flagship Financial Group seeks a Funding Director to lead Indirect Funding across Tempe, AZ and Chadds Ford, PA. You will set priorities, guide managers, and ensure contracts are funded accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with credit policy and regulations.

You will drive staffing plans, performance metrics, and cross-department collaboration with Credit, Sales, Compliance, and Fraud to scale operations and reduce defects. This role reports to the VP of Credit & Funding.

Qualifications

• Must have deep knowledge of credit, underwriting, funding, and contract compliance in indirect auto finance.
• Working knowledge of consumer lending regulations (TILA/Reg Z, ECOA/Reg B, FCRA, OFAC, UDAAP) and state requirements.
• Strategic thinker capable of turning objectives into departmental goals and measurable results.
• Ability to build and interpret operational metrics, dashboards, and capacity models.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong written and verbal communication; executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead Indirect Funding operations across Tempe, AZ and Chadds Ford, PA locations to ensure timely funding of contracts.
• Set guidelines for funding exceptions and monitor decisions to protect portfolio quality.
• Coach and develop funding managers and teams across sites; oversee hiring and performance management.
• Oversee review of retail installment contracts, stipulations, income and identity verification, and deal structure.
• Design staffing models and workflows to handle volume fluctuations and month-end peaks.
• Present reporting on contracts funded, time-to-fund, first-pass funding rate, and errors.
• Ensure compliance with policies and federal/state regulations; support audits and reviews.
• Partner with Credit, Sales, Compliance, Fraud, Servicing, and Finance to resolve funding issues and reduce defects.
• Lead process improvement and automation initiatives with IT and vendors (e-contracting, loan origination, docs).
• Develop and maintain funding policies, procedures, and quality-control programs.
