Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, LP seeks a Director of Identity and Technology Operations to lead IAM strategy, architecture, and lifecycle automation. You will drive birthright and RBAC design, confirm least privilege, and coordinate with HR, IT, and auditors to meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires 8+ years in IAM, 3+ years of leadership, cloud/SaaS experience, and strong scripting skills. A comprehensive benefits package and discretionary bonus are included.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in identity and access management with hands-on engineering or architecture.
• 3+ years leading technical teams, programs, or projects.
• Experience with Azure AD, governance, and privileged access technologies.
• Experience in audited/regulatory environments; cloud and SaaS familiarity.
• Strong scripting/automation: PowerShell, Graph/REST APIs, workflows.
• Ability to design role/entitlement models and translate functions to access.

Responsibilities

• Owns IAM strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap.
• Design enterprise identity model and RBAC with birthright access.
• Evaluate identity platforms; set technical standards and patterns.
• Governs enterprise access, workflows, entitlement catalogs, and certifications.
• Maps job functions to birthright entitlements; manages recertifications.
• Leads automated joiner/mover/leaver provisioning and SCIM onboarding.
• Collaborates with HR/auditors to ensure controls and auditability.
