Job summary

You will report to executive leadership and manage workforce planning, policy development, and HR systems improvements in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in HR management or a senior HR role.
• Strong knowledge of federal and Illinois employment laws.
• Experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, and applicant tracking systems.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
• Serve as the primary HR resource for leadership, managers, and employees.
• Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and security of employee records.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve HR systems and processes.
• Oversee the full recruitment process, from job postings to onboarding.
• Collaborate with department managers to evaluate staffing needs and hiring priorities.
• Develop strategies to attract top talent for warehouse, production, and administrative roles.
• Monitor recruitment results and recommend improvements to enhance retention.
• Ensure compliance with federal, Illinois, and local employment laws.
• Oversee employment eligibility verification, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain accurate personnel files, disciplinary documentation, and compliance records.
• Coordinate with legal counsel to address complex employment matters when needed.
• Address employee complaints, workplace conflicts, and policy violations.
• Conduct workplace investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Guide managers through performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Support a respectful, inclusive, and professional work environment.
• Oversee employee benefits programs and leave administration.
• Coordinate with payroll personnel to ensure accurate employee data and documentation.
• Assist with benefit enrollments, eligibility tracking, and compliance reporting.
• Support workplace safety initiatives and compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Document workplace incidents and employee injuries as needed.
• Ensure employees receive required workplace policy and safety training.
• Provide direction and support to HR staff or administrative personnel.
• Identify training needs, leadership opportunities, and pathways for internal promotions.
• Promote consistent communication between HR, leadership, and employees.
