Job summary

Blue Energy seeks an HSSE Director to build and lead the HSSE department, owning the Owner HSSE program for the PoV project and aligning with BE’s standards and documentation. You will interface with BE personnel, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.

The role requires developing and sustaining a comprehensive HSSE program, staffing, reporting, and governance to ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance across BE’s sites and partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field is preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive HSSE leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior role.
  • Experience in high-risk industries (energy, construction, manufacturing, logistics) preferred.
  • Certifications: CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, CHMM, CPP, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, ISO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the HSSE strategic plan for the PoV project.
  • Lead design and implementation of HSSE policies and frameworks.
  • Oversee occupational health and safety programs and incident investigations.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Develop HSSE staffing plans and partner with leadership on risk.
  • Coordinate with partners, vendors, and regulators on HSSE requirements.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and crisis response programs.
