Job summary

MEPX, formerly known as Edwards Electrical & Mechanical, seeks a Director of Human Resources & Payroll to lead employment administration, payroll operations, benefits, compensation, employee relations, compliance, HR systems, and workforce documentation.

Reporting to the Controller and collaborating with the President and People & Culture Manager, this role shapes policy, drives automation, and ensures accurate, timely HR and payroll processes across the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Eight or more years of progressive HR experience and five or more years of leadership experience.
• Multi-state payroll, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and HRIS experience required.
• Construction, service, manufacturing, or MEP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR governance and employee relations activities.
• Direct payroll operations, benefits administration, and compensation processes.
• Partner with the Controller and leadership on payroll and HR strategy.
• Lead HR and payroll personnel and develop the team.
• Ensure compliance, audits, and HR documentation quality.
