Job summary

HomeFirst is seeking a Director of HR Operations to lead HR systems, payroll, HRIS, and benefits administration across the organization. You will partner with the CHRO and HR leaders to optimize workflows and improve service delivery to staff serving the Bay Area.

This role requires deep knowledge of California employment practices, payroll controls, and data-driven reporting, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible human resources experience including HR operations, payroll, HRIS, benefits, and workforce reporting.
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.
• Demonstrated experience administering an HRIS (Paycom preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily administration of HR operations to ensure consistent, efficient service.
• Oversee personnel records, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance.
• Manage HRIS/payroll integration and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Partner with Payroll and Recruiting teams to optimize processes and controls.
• Develop and maintain standardized workflows and service delivery metrics.
