Olive Ateliers is a fast-growing, founder-led brand entering a pivotal chapter. What began as a business rooted in sourcing and retailing vintage objects from around the world has evolved into a design-led home furnishings company, with rapidly expanding proprietary collections produced through a trusted network of global partners.
The momentum shows: year to date, company sales are up more than 60%, and online has more than doubled to half of all revenue. As we grow from a cult-favorite retail concept into a nationally recognized luxury consumer brand, we’re hiring a strategic, experience-obsessed Director of Growth, the first dedicated headcount for the channel in company history, to architect the full-funnel growth engine that will power what comes next.
The Opportunity
This role builds the growth function, reporting directly to the CEO. You will own e-commerce, performance marketing, and the paid media agency relationship with real P&L accountability, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO, the Chief Brand Officer, and the executive team to turn brand storytelling into a measurable growth system. You will also build on Works, our proprietary platform, where our attribution, CAC, and LTV data already live: put agents and automation on top of it and ship improvements directly. It’s a rare chance to define how to scale a brand that prides itself on being Far From Average.
The honest version: you join with an agency in place and a data foundation to build on, inside a lean team that moves fast. You will earn influence rather than inherit it. If that sounds like the appeal, keep reading. As the company grows, this role may expand in scope or specialization.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- Deliver the online plan: net sales growth at contribution targets
- Grow new customers at a disciplined blended CAC, and know how that CAC rises as volume scales.
- Raise the value of every customer we acquire: AOV, purchase frequency, and repeat rate, so LTV climbs alongside acquisition.
- A measurement model leadership trusts when allocating budget across channels.
- A growth team structure decided and underway (in-house, agency, or hybrid), with lifecycle running on your architecture.
- Works platform extended with agents and automation that visibly save time or lift results.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth Planning
- Own the growth roadmap: e-commerce, performance marketing, and paid media strategy and execution across all channels.
- Hold P&L ownership of the e-commerce channel through contribution margin: revenue, CAC, and profitability.
- Own the paid media agency relationship end to end: strategy, scope, budget, and performance, as the single point of accountability.
- Act as the growth counterpart to the Chief Brand Officer, ensuring brand storytelling and performance marketing operate as one system, not competing agendas.
- Set and own the growth targets: net sales, new customers at blended CAC, contribution margin, and the returning-customer levers (AOV, repeat rate, frequency), and report against them with a clear, standardized framework.
- Support retail and trade with paid and promotional strategy where it lifts their results, in partnership with their leaders.
E-Commerce & Conversion
- Own the Shopify storefront experience end to end: site merchandising cadence, landing pages, PDP optimization, and checkout flow.
- Lead a continuous conversion rate optimization program, including a structured A/B testing roadmap.
- Partner with Merchandising so new arrivals, collections, and capsules are supported by a high-converting, brand-accretive web experience.
- Own Google Merchant Center, product feed integrity, and site-side technical SEO.
Performance Marketing & Paid Media
- Set strategy and own execution, directly or via agency, for Meta, Pinterest, Google, and other paid acquisition channels, digital and non-digital.
- Further develop the affiliate and partner program (networks, commission structure, and publisher mix) against a defined CAC ceiling, with controls for coupon leakage and attribution fraud, in partnership with Brand & Partnerships on creator channel overlap.
- Partner with the Chief Brand Officer and Art Director to ensure paid creative reflects brand standards while hitting performance benchmarks.
- Own the testing calendar for offers, audiences, personas, and creative formats across paid channels.
CRM & Lifecycle
- Serve as the technical architect for email and SMS, partnering with Brand & Partnerships, who continue to execute campaigns.
- Own the non-campaign automations and flows, audience and segmentation strategy, and the analytics behind performance.
- Build a lifecycle strategy that ladders into acquisition and retention targets: welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back.
- As volume warrants, decide whether lifecycle and CRM is best run in-house, through a partner, or as a hybrid, and build the case.
Data, Reporting & Systems
- Own the marketing analytics stack, built on Works, our proprietary platform: attribution, CAC and LTV models, and dashboards.
- Partner with Finance on forecasting, budget, and the economics behind growth targets.
- Champion tooling and automation that reduce manual work and increase speed to execution, shipping improvements to Works directly.
Team Building & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Decide how the growth function is built, in-house, agency, or a mix, and grow the team as results and complexity justify it.
- Partner closely with the Chief Brand Officer, Art Director, and Sales Team Lead so growth strategy, brand, e-commerce, and in-store experience move in lockstep.
- Partner closely with the VP of Operations on inbound, shipping, and fulfillment, and the economics behind each, so demand, availability, and delivery cost stay aligned.
- Partner with Brand & Partnerships to get performance leverage from creator partnerships and paid amplification of organic and influencer content.
Who You Are
An experienced growth leader. Specifically:
- Experience. 6+ years in performance marketing, growth, or e-commerce, ideally within a high-growth, omni-channel DTC or consumer brand. You have owned a P&L and developed in-house teams and agency relationships.
- Hands-on. A builder. Fluent in the platforms and comfortable in the data yourself: Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, GA4, Shopify.
- AI-native, with proof. AI is already how you work. You bring demonstrated capability: agents, automations, and tools you have built and shipped (analysis, reporting, creative testing, site or data workflows) with measurable results.
- E-commerce fluency. Deep working knowledge of Shopify, CRO principles, and the on-site levers that turn traffic into revenue.
- Lifecycle depth. Working command of email and SMS architecture (flows, segmentation, deliverability), ideally in Klaviyo. You will architect it; others will execute it.
- Systems mind. Strong command of attribution, analytics, and reporting. You turn messy data into decisions leadership trusts.
- Obsession. In love with what we do and what we are building. You want to leave your mark on the company, not just run a generic growth playbook.
- A-Player. You treat the business like it is yours, move with urgency, and take responsibility when things are unclear. You care about the outcome more than the credit, hold yourself to a high standard, and lift the people around you.
- Track record. You have scaled new-customer acquisition while holding or improving margin, and can show CAC, MER, and LTV before and after. Growth that only works by spending more does not count.
Compensation
We reward the work with high-leverage upside, and offer something rarer than salary alone: the chance to do the most important work of your career, at a company small enough that scope is not rationed.
- Annual Salary: $130,000-$160,000, commensurate with capability
- Performance bonus tied to company and individual OKRs
- Equity: stock options through our long-term incentive program
- 401k: Generous employer match (eligibility requirements and vesting applies)
- Subsidized company health benefits
- Paid vacation, paid sick leave, and company-paid holidays
- 40% off retail merchandise
This role offers significant growth potential and visibility, with the opportunity to shape a core business function at a critical stage in our brand’s evolution.
