Job summary

Grand Rapids Community Foundation seeks a Program Director who will lead all grantmaking activities for the Fund for Community Good and related funds. You will supervise two Program Officers and build strong partnerships with nonprofits, coalitions, and government agencies across Kent County.

You will play a critical role as a strategist and relationship-builder, driving equity-focused grantmaking aligned with the Foundation’s North Star to create an inclusive economy and thriving community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, administration, social science or other related field.
• Five to seven years experience and knowledge of the nonprofit sector, with knowledge of grantmaking practices a plus.
• Broad network of relationships within communities experiencing inequities and training in inclusion and equity practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all grantmaking processes for the Fund for Community Good and related funds.
• Develop, coach and retain high-performing team members, including supervision of two Program Officers.
• Partner with community organizations and government agencies to influence community systems and initiatives.
• Develop and oversee plans for field of interest fund distribution and strategy for other funds implemented by Program Officers.
• Maintain a communications network with diverse professionals and stakeholders and facilitate information gathering from the community.
• Travel within Michigan and occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
