Job summary

AdHoc Group Against Crime seeks a Director of Fund Development to collaborate with the President/CEO on research for planned giving, foundation and corporate funds, and strategic grant opportunities. The role includes leading private and public fundraising events supporting the organization’s mission and programs.

The position requires planning and executing grants, donor relations, and coordinating annual campaigns, benefits, and outreach efforts. Some evenings and weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

The Director of Fund Development will have the primary responsibility of working with the President/CEO to execute research for planned giving, prospective foundation and corporate funds, create a strategic fundraising plan and identify mission essential grants that support general operating, programs and services for the AdHoc Group Against Crime.

The Director of Fund Development works with the President/CEO for strategic direction and leadership of AdHoc’s fund-raising activities, including the development goals, objectives, strategies and executing the writing of key initiative grant opportunities. The Director of Fund Development plans, develops and maintains a comprehensive private and public sector fundraising events program in support of the mission and programs of AdHoc. Maintains and cultivate donor relationships, while also compiling and tracking Corporate, Government, and Foundation grants.

The above is a general description of the Director of Fund Development role. Below are specific activities for the position.

• Identify grants that support current programs and services that AdHoc provides. Write LOI’s and grant applications. All grants are subject to review by President before submittal.
• Planning and executing the annual membership and annual fund campaigns, including designing the campaign, procuring materials, executing a mail and e-mail campaign, and creating progress reports for internal and external use
• Maintaining a donor database and executing prompt acknowledgement of donations.
• Researching donor prospects and maintaining a donor prospect list.
• Planning and executing the organization’s annual benefit, which includes program design, host committee and ticket sales, invitation design, vendor recruitment and management, and donor follow-up.
• Assisting with the planning and execution of other fundraising events and public programs, ensuring necessarily follow up after fundraising events.
• Assisting with institutional and foundation fundraising efforts, including grant research and writing, maintaining a grants calendar, compiling reports, and preparing organizational documents for foundation submission.
• Compiling donor lists for the annual report and participating in the creation of the annual report as needed.
• Staffing the Fund Development Committee, including developing agendas with the committee chair for regular meetings, providing staff support for initiatives and committee efforts, and preparing necessary materials for committee meetings and assignments.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have at least three years of experience in development or related field. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-directed, and demonstrate a strong ability to work well with a wide range of individuals and groups. Proficiency with donor databases and websites is highly desirable.

Compensation commensurate with experience. Work schedule is approximately 40 hours per week and can be somewhat flexible. Some evenings or weekends are required to attend Future AdHoc sponsored events.
