Korn Ferry has been exclusively retained to lead the search for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) on behalf of a rapidly evolving, mission-driven, federal government contracting organization.
Our client operates a diversified portfolio of businesses delivering critical services to federal government agencies and commercial customers, with capabilities spanning construction, environmental services, infrastructure support, operations and maintenance, and other specialized government contracting services. The organization is entering an important stage of financial and operational transformation, with a focus on strengthening financial visibility, improving operating-company performance, and building a more sophisticated and scalable FP&A function.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will serve as a strategic finance partner to executive leadership and operating-company presidents across the organization. A central priority will be transitioning the business from primarily enterprise-level financial oversight toward greater accountability, forecasting accuracy, and performance management at the individual operating-company and project levels.
The successful candidate will bring deep federal government contracting experience at the enterprise level, combined with hands-on project finance expertise and strong knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and DCAA requirements. This individual must understand the financial complexities of federal services and project-based contracting environments, including contract profitability, indirect cost structures, revenue recognition, Estimates at Completion (EAC), Estimates to Complete (ETC), and financial performance across fixed-price, cost-plus, and time-and-materials contracts.
This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced GovCon finance professional to help shape the future of an evolving finance organization. Beyond traditional FP&A responsibilities, the Director will play an instrumental role in implementing new planning capabilities, establishing standardized processes, developing finance talent, and helping build a best-in-class FP&A function.
