Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or related field.
• Minimum eight (8) years in a similar industry, five (5) years in public works project design and construction.
• Requires PE license and Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM); NM licensure within six months if licensed elsewhere.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and driving record check.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Flood Commission department.
• Develop strategic plans to support flood mitigation and infrastructure resilience.
• Coordinate with the Flood Commissioner, Board of County Commissioners, regulatory agencies, and the public.
• Prepare, monitor, and administer the departmental budget; oversee grants and contracts.
• Review and approve plans for flood control facilities and permits; oversee capital projects.
