Director of Fitness
Key Areas of Focus:
The Director of Fitness (DOF) is the main salesperson for Personal Training programming. This position is not about teaching trainers how to work out but rather about selling personal training services.
The DOF is a New Member On-Boarding Specialist, working directly with the General Manager on tour practices and performing F1s. You will meet with each new member and sell personal training programming through our customized software.
Key Responsibilities
Sales:
The Director of Fitness works directly with the General Manager on front desk staff training to achieve a 70% appointment set rate each month of qualified member PT prospects.
Human Resources:
Interviewing, hiring, training, and terminating as it relates to Personal Trainers, in conjunction with the club GM.
Team Performance:
The DOF ensures that all PT Department team members adhere to PT protocol, providing coaching and motivation as needed.
Scheduling:
The Director of Fitness ensures that all PT Departments are scheduled sufficiently to meet demand and may need to adjust schedules as necessary.
Administrative:
The DOF is responsible for monitoring the Personal Training Program and learning all aspects of reporting related to Personal Trainers.
Payroll:
The Director of Fitness ensures Trainer payroll is processed accurately every Monday.
Member Interaction:
The DOF is expected to interact with members to ensure satisfaction with our team and programs.
Miscellaneous:
The DOF will assist with program marketing, producing trainer biographies, and other tasks as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Act in the best interest of overall club operations and assist wherever needed.
Schedule:
Director of Fitness (DOF) Role Hours - Split Shifts (Monday to Thursday: 9am -12:30pm then 3pm to 7pm), Friday 9am to 1:30pm.
PT Hours: Schedule up to 20, ½ hour sessions with clients outside of DOF hours.
Compensation:
Salary: The hours devoted to the role will fluctuate based on program needs, generally within the 30 - 35 hour per week timeframe.
Commissions and Bonuses: The DOF position is performance-based; achieving sales goals drives compensation.
Conditions of Employment:
To be considered full-time, an individual must establish a consistent 35 hours per week schedule, combining various responsibilities.
