Job summary

CapFed® is seeking an experienced finance professional in Overland Park, KS to oversee SEC reporting, tax provision, and related financial disclosures for the Bank and Company. You will supervise preparation of 10-Q/10-K, earnings releases, and management reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC rules, and banking regulations.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, a CPA or MBA, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Five to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
• CPA or MBA required or equivalent professional certification.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and timely filing of the Company’s Form 10-Qs and 10-Ks and the preparation of the Company’s quarterly earnings release.
• Oversee and assist staff in researching, interpreting and applying/implementing new guidance issued by the FASB, SEC, OCC and FRB to the Company’s/Bank’s financial reports and also for one-time and/or significant transactions.
• Oversee the corporate federal and state income tax process which includes the preparation/review of the quarterly tax provision and the review of the federal and state tax returns, along with applying new tax regulations.
• Oversee the preparation and timely completion of reports to the Board of Directors, ALCO, and other management reports. Oversee the preparation and timely filing of the Call Report and Federal Reserve financial reports.
• Oversee the preparation of the quarterly allowance for credit losses model and the annual allowance for credit losses model annual review.
• Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development appraisal and work assignments of staff.
• Actively participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
