Position Overview:

The Director, FP&A will be a strategic leader in forecasting, budgeting, and analytical processes supporting commercial and company-wide financial planning and analysis activities. This individual will lead FP&A efforts supporting our Commercial (Sales & Marketing) organization, collaborate with Finance leadership and the CFO on Corporate FP&A, and oversee financial systems (Planful). The ideal candidate will be a growth-oriented, strategic finance leader capable of building and scaling a high-performing team to support rapid growth and operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Develop FP&A calendar, tools, and processes to improve forecasting and analytics capabilities.
• Support the Commercial function by defining and implementing forecasting and reporting processes, driving revenue growth and operational efficiency with a focus on ROI.
• Communicate process, template, and timeline requirements for deliverables across FP&A teams.
• Lead the long-range financial planning process in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Create monthly financial management packages, including variance analysis, forecast updates, and scenario planning.
• Translate data into strategic insights to inform executive decision-making.
• Prepare quarterly Board memos, performance reports, dashboards, and investor materials.
• Support monthly/quarterly close processes related to expenses, general ledger reviews, and accruals.
• Identify and implement financial systems tools to enhance FP&A functions, acting as a subject matter expert.
• Lead cross-functional teams on projects and business initiatives.
• Develop and report on organizational goals and progress.
• Build and develop the FP&A team into a high-performing, scalable organization.
• Gain deep understanding of Outset’s business to provide innovative insights and strategic recommendations.
• Support ad-hoc analyses, special projects, and benchmarking activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent master’s degree preferred.
• 12-15+ years of relevant experience in commercial FP&A, with corporate or enterprise FP&A background.
• Experience in a fast-growing, public company environment.

SF Bay Area: $206,000 - $278,000 USD
