Job summary

AlixPartners is hiring a Director for Investigations, Compliance & Privacy within Risk Advisory in Washington, DC. The role leads complex financial crimes investigations and provides senior-level risk and compliance guidance to clients, including acting as interim Chief Compliance Officer or BSA Officer as needed.

The ideal candidate brings a decade of leadership in financial crime, strong regulatory engagement skills, and expertise in blockchain analytics, with demonstrated ability to deliver

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten years leading complex investigations and risk/compliance matters in financial crime.
• Deep knowledge across money laundering, sanctions, securities fraud and digital-asset fraud.
• Experience with financial institutions, fintech, or digital-asset businesses and regulators.
• Ability to explain technical findings to executives and clients clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead BSA/AML, OFAC, and FCPA risk assessments for financial institutions and digital-asset businesses.
• Take interim CCO/BSA Officer roles and guide regulatory responses.
• Direct domestic and cross-border investigations of financial crime and misconduct.
• Apply blockchain analytics and forensics to identify patterns and support conclusions.
• Engage regulators, prosecutors, and external counsel with clear reports and exhibits.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coach members; manage multiple workstreams and budgets.
