Job summary

Lamar State College-Port Arthur is seeking a Director of Financial Aid responsible for managing all financial aid programs, including those for veterans and correctional education. The successful candidate will oversee departmental operations, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and provide guidance to students and their families.

This exempt position requires a Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience, with a preferred Master’s degree. Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with some evening and weekend duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two to four years of experience leading to this position.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of Financial Aid and veterans programs.
• Prepare and submit federal, state, city, and institutional reporting.
• Establish strategies for delivering financial aid awards.
• Hire and evaluate departmental staff.
• Counsel students and parents regarding financial aid.
• Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations.
