Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the SESG finance function across multiple sites. This high-visibility role shapes strategy, strengthens financial performance, and drives scalable processes in a complex manufacturing business.

The successful candidate will partner with the President and SESG leadership, own planning and forecasting, and translate financial results into actionable insights that impact revenue, margin, and cash flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field required.
• MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional designation preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong manufacturing finance experience, including costing, inventory, margins, and operating performance.
• Experience leading finance within a multi-site or complex business environment strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, modeling, reporting, controls, and IFRS.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; IFS and Dynamics 365 are assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SESG finance function across all businesses and locations with governance and cadence.
• Partner with the President and SESG leadership to inform strategic decisions.
• Own the Annual Operating Plan, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Translate results into insights to improve revenue, margin, and cost performance.
• Oversee customer, product, project, site, pricing, and ROI analysis.
• Drive working capital management including receivables, inventory, payables, and cash flow.
• Standardize processes, reporting, controls, KPIs, and tools across SESG.
• Maintain accounting, close, costing, inventory accounting, and compliance.
• Support capital investments, make-versus-buy decisions, growth initiatives, and restructurings.
• Provide systems leadership for IFS, Dynamics 365, and related reporting systems.
