Job summary

ELTA North America, a global leader in electronic systems for the U.S. government, seeks a Director of Finance/Controller to lead the accounting and finance functions in Annapolis Junction, MD.

You will oversee monthly closes, reporting, audits, and compliance with FAR/DFAR, CAS, SOX, ITAR and ISO, while developing teams and driving continuous improvement. This role requires a CPA or advanced degree, and 5+ years of government contractor experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Advanced degree or CPA is required.
• Deltek Costpoint experience is required.
• Minimum 8–10 years progressive accounting experience is required.
• 5+ years’ experience with a government contractor is required.
• Travel: 10-20%, domestic and international.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the company’s monthly close process and posting of journal entries.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and budget/forecast analysis.
• Coordinate quarterly audits and annual audit; manage tax provision data.
• Manage revenue, billing and contract accounting for various contract types.
• Lead, coach and develop accounting, finance, HR, and payroll teams.

Summary

This position is responsible for managing the daily accounting activities for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute ELTA North America strategic plan consistent with short and long-term objectives.
• Understand manufacturing and the accounting/financials necessary to accurately record all transactions and provide timely reporting to operations and leadership team.
• Lead, coach and provide constructive feedback to direct reports through communication regarding performance. Responsible for supervision and oversight of accounting, finance, HR, and payroll include hiring decisions, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline as necessary.
• Implement Continuous Improvement throughout the organization.
• Support business development and operations activities, including potential acquisitions, manufacturing capacity/capabilities, and creation of new products.
• Manage company's monthly close process and timeline, including the final review and posting of journal entries, analysis of variance reports and the publication of monthly results via the financial management reporting package.
• Manage revenue and billing and function for Delivery based, Milestone based, Cost Plus, Time & Materials, and recurring services FFP contracts.
• Develop Provisional billing rates and Disclosure Statements.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and provide budget/forecast to actual analysis.
• Ensure timely delivery of company financial statements are accurate, reliable, and consistent with organizational goals.
• Produce project reporting for PM and executive staff on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
• Work with BD and PM staff to complete proposal pricing.
• Ensure adherence to FAR, DFAR, IFRS, CAS, SOX, ITAR, and ISO.
• Prepare monthly forecast, annual budget, and 5-year plan.
• Complete quarterly corporate financial reports.
• Coordinate quarterly audit reviews and annual audit.
• Coordinate DCAA and DCMA audits.
• Coordinate 401k audits.
• Complete quarterly and annual tax provision data.
• Assist with Board of Directors financial presentations.
• Prepare cash forecasts on a weekly basis.
• Responsible for payroll processing.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Advanced degree or CPA required.
• Deltek Costpoint experience required.
• Minimum 8-10 years progressive accounting experience required.
• 5+ years’ experience with a government contractor required.
• Travel: 10-20%, domestic and international.
