Job summary

El Camino Health Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Director of Finance to oversee financial operations for a brand-new inpatient rehabilitation hospital opening in 2027. This role reports to senior leadership and drives budgeting, reporting, and audit processes across the facility.

Qualifications include a related bachelor's degree, strong healthcare finance leadership, and the ability to influence across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be substituted.
• Proficient in calculations involving fractions, percentages, rates, and interpreting graphs.
• Moderate proficiency in email, spreadsheets, word processing, and business software.
• Capable of handling complex communication and interacting with senior leadership.
• Able to assess and solve varied and complex business challenges using precedent and judgment.
• Must have strong leadership in healthcare financial management, staffing, and compliance.
• Must be able to influence, negotiate, and communicate across departments and leadership levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, projections, accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with legal, ethical, clinical, and administrative requirements.
• Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care support, IT systems, service levels, and complaint resolution.
• Plan and monitor staffing activities including hiring, orientation, evaluation, disciplinary actions, and continuing education.
• Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with financial targets.
• Coordinate and lead internal and external audits.
• Create and foster a professional environment that supports staff development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations for the inpatient rehabilitation hospital. This includes budget planning, financial reporting, audit management, and driving departmental efficiency aligned with organizational goals.
