Qualifications

  • Experience in management or transaction advisory consulting or PE-backed companies is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong financial modeling capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual budget and rolling forecast process with cross-functional inputs.
  • Develop and maintain the operating model including revenue, margins, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Build KPIs across revenue, margin, inventory turns, and capital expenditures with variance analysis.
  • Support acquisitions, capital expenditures, and new service line evaluations with models.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packages for CFO, board, and sponsor.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Finance will report directly to, and serve as the primary financial support for, the Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for financial planning and analysis, management and lender reporting, and the analytical work underpinning JCL’s strategy and growth initiatives.


This role requires a strategic player-manager rather than a purely analytical one, able


to own the modeling, determine the meaning, and shape the narrative. In this high-paced position, the Director of Finance will be forward-facing, managing the story of the operating results and the cash flow.


Success in this role is measured by helping to build the Company’s long-range financial plan & annual profit plan, in evaluating new service lines, capital projects, and acquisitions, and by translating analysis into recommendations upon which management can take immediate action.


The role works in close partnership with Allied Industrial Partners, serving as a primary day-to-day contact for AIP’s investment and operating teams and helping achieve the Company’s financial goals and value creation plan. It is designed for a candidate seeking a role at a private equity-backed company, with direct exposure to the CEO, board, and sponsor, and a clear runway to broader finance leadership as the Company scales.

This hybrid role will be based preferably in either the greater Pittsburgh, PA, or Cleveland, OH, areas, with regular travel to Company facilities and self-directed travel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Own the annual budget and rolling forecast process, coordinating inputs across sales, procurement, operations, and rentals.

  • Develop and maintain the Company’s operating model, including revenue build, margin analysis, working capital, and cash flow forecasting.

  • Build and track KPIs across revenue, gross margin, inventory turns, rental fleet utilization, and capital expenditures, with variance analysis against budget and prior periods.


Capital Markets, M&A & Strategic Projects


  • Build financial models and analyses supporting acquisitions, capital expenditures, and new service line evaluation.

  • Build the analytical case for capital projects, fleet investments, and new service lines, and present recommendations to the CFO, board, and Allied Industrial Partners.

  • Support due diligence, quality of earnings review, and purchase agreement workstreams on add-on acquisitions.


Financial Management & Treasury


  • Maintain liquidity forecasting and cash management to ensure adequate availability and covenant headroom.


Reporting & Stakeholder Communication


  • Prepare the monthly management reporting package and quarterly board and investor materials, working with the CFO to frame results, risks, and recommendations for the board and sponsor.

  • Prepare lender compliance reporting, including covenant calculations, borrowing base certificates, and other credit

  • Partner with the CFO and CEO on the annual strategic plan and long-range model, translating commercial and operational initiatives into financial targets and tracking performance against them.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for improvement and

  • Develop end-market, customer, and footprint analysis to inform pricing, product, and expansion decisions, and present findings to management, the board, and the sponsor.

  • Lead preparation for the monthly and quarterly business performance review (BPR) process.


Accounting Support & Ad-Hoc Projects


  • Support audit processes and financial reporting requirements as needed.

  • Complete impromptu analysis and special projects as requested by the CFO, CEO, or board.



KEY QUALIFICATIONS


  • BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related major required; advanced degree or professional

  • Minimum 5 years in investment banking, consulting, financial planning, financial analysis, or corporate development/M&A; experience in management or transaction advisory consulting, or at a PE-backed company a plus.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with demonstrated financial modeling capability and the ability to think beyond templated analysis.

  • Exacting standards of accuracy, precision, and organization, with the ability to create checks and balances that ensure high-quality output.

  • Demonstrated ability to move between strategic analysis and day-to-day execution, and to communicate findings and recommendations concisely to senior stakeholders.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment.
