Job summary

Spee-Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Director to provide leadership over facility operations, maintenance, custodial services and security across multiple locations.

The role ensures facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational to support daily freight and delivery operations while overseeing facility projects, budgets, vendors, and staff. Frequent travel between company locations is required.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Business Management, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in facilities management or related field preferred.
• Experience managing multi-site operations, vendors, contractors, and facility improvement projects preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
• Must hold or obtain a forklift certification.
• Must hold or obtain OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead company-wide facility operations including maintenance, custodial, grounds, and security.
• Oversee terminals, warehouses, docks, and office facilities readiness and operability.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and facility standards.
• Supervise facility management staff, maintenance personnel, custodial employees, and security teams.
• Establish and monitor facility maintenance schedules for HVAC, dock equipment, lighting, electrical, and security systems.
• Ensure facilities remain compliant with OSHA, DOT, environmental, fire safety and operational standards.
• Lead facility-related projects including remodels, expansions, renovations, infrastructure upgrades.
• Review and approve facility expenses, maintenance invoices, capital expenditures, and repair costs.
• Develop, manage, and monitor budgets for facilities company-wide.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, leases, and service agreements with vendors and contractors.
• Inspect and approve work by outside contractors and service providers.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and disruptions to minimize downtime in transportation operations.
• Oversee facility security measures including access controls and surveillance.
• Conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance concerns and safety risks.
• Coordinate snow removal, groundskeeping, and seasonal property maintenance.
• Maintain accurate facility records, inspection documentation, compliance reporting, and maintenance tracking.
• Hire, onboard, train, mentor, and evaluate facility and maintenance employees.
• Facilitate leadership meetings with operations regarding facility needs and priorities.
• Frequent travel between facilities.
