Job summary

Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO, seeks a Director of Facilities Management to lead the planning, operation, maintenance, and service delivery of the University’s facilities, infrastructure, grounds, and related support services across the main campus, River Campus, and regional campuses.

Reporting to executive leadership, the Director will oversee engineering, maintenance, utilities, capital projects, procurement, risk management, regulatory compliance, and budgeting,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years leadership experience in facilities management or related areas.
• Experience with capital planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of building systems, accessibility, and environmental health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for facilities operations and services.
• Direct engineering, maintenance, utilities, and contracted services.
• Oversee planning, design, and lifecycle management of capital projects.
• Develop budgets, financial controls, and asset stewardship.
• Establish performance metrics and service standards.
• Lead space management, master planning, and renewal strategies.
• Oversee procurement, contracts, and vendor relations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with university leadership and community partners.
