Job summary

Southeast Missouri State University is seeking a Groundskeeper in Facilities Management to perform lawn and grounds maintenance, including mowing and mulching, and assist with fertilizer applications. You will trim plants, maintain sidewalks, and support events.

Snow removal, equipment operation, and supervising student workers are also part of the role. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be able to work in inclement weather; residence within 30

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work in inclement weather including snow removal.
• Live within 30 minutes travel time from the University.

Responsibilities

• Perform general landscaping and grounds maintenance work (mowing, mulching).
• Assist in applying fertilizer, herbicide/pesticide treatments.
• Trim and prune plants at heights above ground level.
• Maintain sidewalks, streets and parking lots; basic patching/repairs.
• Assist with event support and snow/ice removal.
• Operate and maintain lawn tractors and other equipment.
• Provide leadership to student and temporary workers.
• Assist other trades when necessary.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
