Job summary

Lakeside School in Seattle, WA seeks an experienced Director of Facilities and Maintenance to provide strategic and operational leadership for the school’s physical environment. The role oversees buildings, grounds, residences, and athletic facilities across multiple sites, reporting to the CFO.

Lead the facilities team, manage budgets and projects, and ensure safety, accessibility, and sustainable operations to support teaching and community life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business/operations, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible facilities/campus operations experience, including supervisory and budget responsibility.
• Experience leading trades, managing contractors and large projects in an educational setting.
• Experience with capital planning, preventive maintenance, and building systems in occupied environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for maintenance, repair, operation, and long-term care of school facilities and properties.
• Oversee custodial services and ensure high cleanliness standards across all facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems.
• Lead campus master planning, capital renewal planning, and facilities-related initiatives.
• Manage budgets, procurements, contracts, and vendor relationships; monitor quality, safety, and timelines.
• Ensure safety, compliance, sustainability, and emergency readiness across campuses.
